Inauguration of the First Batch of Civil Servants for the IKN Authority, Basuki Emphasizes Four Characteristics of Authority Personnel
BERITATOP - Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) Basuki Hadimuljono emphasized four main characters that every IKN Authority personnel must possess, namely strong due to competence, brave due to integrity, loyal to the profession, and innovative in work.
This message was conveyed during the Inauguration and Oath-Taking of Civil Servants and Appointment to Functional Positions at Taman Kusuma Bangsa, Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN, Monday (08/06/2026).
According to the Head of the IKN Authority, the first character that must be possessed is strength, not in the physical sense, but strength due to having adequate competence in their respective fields.
“As an Authority person, the first thing is, they must be strong. Not strong muscles, but strong competence, because they must be competent in their respective fields. If they are not competent, they will not be strong. In the future, building IKN will not be easy. There will surely be many challenges.
Not only building buildings, but also building community life which will surely have not-so-light challenges,” said Basuki.
The second character is bravery, which stems from integrity. Basuki reminded that the oath of office taken by the civil servants is a moral and spiritual commitment that must be maintained throughout their service.
“As IKN Authority civil servants, you must be brave. Not physically brave, but brave because of integrity,” he asserted.
The third character is having professional loyalty. Basuki emphasized that the loyalty of a civil servant must be given to the profession, duties, and mandate held, not to specific individuals.
“Not loyal to individuals or leaders, but loyal to their respective professions professionally. So, professional loyalty. You must have professional loyalty,” said Basuki.
Meanwhile, the fourth character is the ability to improvise and innovate. According to Basuki, the development of IKN requires apparatus that can generate new ideas and not get stuck in routine work methods.
“You must have an artistic soul. Develop your artistic soul. Not just singing, not just exercising, but that artistic soul will bring our character to be brave in improvising and innovating,” said Basuki.
On that occasion, Basuki reminded that being a civil servant is not just a profession, but a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility. He asked the newly appointed employees to consider every task and job as a form of service and worship.
“Today, this afternoon, we all take the oath and promise as civil servants. Witnessed by noble religious leaders, and I believe this afternoon God Almighty, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, is also present witnessing your oath-taking.
He emphasized that the oath taken by the civil servants is not only a personal commitment or witnessed by the attendees at the inauguration, but also a moral and spiritual accountability before God Almighty.
“So don’t play around with that oath. Your oath is not just for yourself, not just heard by the attendees present today, but also heard by Allah SWT, God Almighty, including His angels,” asserted Basuki.
